Our first live performance is finally coming up this Friday!
Speaking for everyone pictured above, I think it’s safe to say we’re all pretty pumped about the show. This will be Walker’s and my first chance to show our chops with this incredible band, and give the ensemble as a whole the step it needs to flex its toes with a heavier, more driven sound. We’re cranking out some new tunes, and polishing off some some of In Ivy’s finer pieces of music (all penned by our wonderful lead vocalist, Amanda).
Speaking personally, this is the first time in a while I’ve played in front of a paying audience with other musicians on stage with me. Performing solo and performing with other talent truly is like comparing apples and oranges. (I couldn’t think of a clever musical analogy, so there you go) It’s so much more fun, and the live spontaneity and interactions with the other performers gives so much more life and beauty to a performance. The difference here, with In Ivy, is you don’t feel like a cog in a machine. You’re part of a living, breathing entity. That’s, to me, what In Ivy is.
So if you’re able, and hopefully willing, please come down to our show this Friday, May 31st. We are playing at a venue called the Lilypad, and it is located in Cambridge, MA. Tickets are available for purchase before the show (link below), or at the door. Getting your tickets online will ensure a seat; it’s a small venue, so they may sell out quick! Doors open at 7:00 PM, but please consider coming closer to 7:15-7:30. That will ensure you not getting bumped into by us while we set up! The show kicks off at 7:30 PM, and I’d love to see as many of you there as possible!
